Hi, I've lent my P910i to my parents while they go on holiday to France and italy sop they can use Tomtom. In the mean time I'm using my sisters old S700i. the phone is fine but the ear piece volume is terrible compared to my P910i. Is this a design fault? a problem with the phone I have? Is there anything I can do to improve it?
thanks. |

When I changed the housing over on mine I noticed quite a lot of dust can accumulate in the speaker vent.
Beneath that there is a round wire mesh which I think is supposed to stop dust entering the mechanism and that is exactlly what it does. 2 years worth of dust was packed in there.
After I changed the housing the speaker volume when about twice as loud.
My suggestion would be to take the back cover off using a small Philips (cross-head) screw driver - its not difficult - and clean the speaker vent with a small brush of some kind.
That might just work. |

Thats rite! IMO its not a design fault per se.. But yes, i too use 910 as my back up (office) phone.. It is not comparable with S700 being a PDA/ PHONE combo for business use.. But yes it has a higher volume earpiece.. Check with yor Sis if the fone has had drops (on hard surface etc).. Mine always does as am a bit careless.. n so it has dislocated its Mic a bit.. People complain am barely audible even when am speaking normal.. And finally..Be careful while opening up this baby if you arnt an Old hand at it
