I'd love to be able to use bluetooth stereo headphones to listen to music on my phone and I'm trying to get a better handle on what spec is required and which phones have that spec. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

the phone, and the headset, must support the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) bluetooth profile at the very least

The SE phones currently compatible with A2DP are:

W950i, W850i, W710i, K610im, Z710i, P990i, K610i, V630i, K800i, M600i

(Actually, that's a list of the phones compatible with the HBH-DS970 BT stereo headset, according to SE.co.uk ...)
...Silver Xperia Arc, 32GB SD card...

I'm using the DS970 and its great!

while A2DP is the primary factor, I recommend choosing a phone and headset with also support AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) as this allows you to control start/stop, next/previous and volume from the headset.

I have been using a headset with the SWTUA (SOD it wires all TANGLED UP AGAIN) for three years and look forward to getting a phone equiped with ALAHTDT (AT LAST A HEAD SET THAT DONT TANGLE) as these are more likely to be compatible with GWYAW (GIRLFRIEND WHO YANK AT WIRES).
If it works it works!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

How badly does this headset affect battery life?
