First of all, I'm not trying to sound like a "now-it-all". But I would like to offer my services to people out there who has common or technical questions about GSM cell phones or the GSM net. I'm fron Sweden and I've been working some time for Ericsson troubleshooting base station components, like boosters, PA's and the sorts. Currently I'm working in a small workshop in Norway that repair all sorts of mobile phones. Feel free to post questions about sw upgrades, common faults of almost any phone, and I'll try to snoop up som info for you. I sure sound like a commercial, but I'd like to help. I see that there are a lot of "newbie" or "RTFM" questions here but I hope that someone can put up a challenging question. Hopefully I' don't need to answer questions about; "Why isn't my Nokia working?"...we all know the answer to that one

Where are the releasenotes for the latest software-versions?
I guess that's a good one |

The main thing they do in the new revisions of software are smaller updates of network depending stuff. So the release notes of the softwares are a major bore to read. Trust me. You won't get like, more pixels of your display or faster handling of the memory of the phone. :=) So don't expect interesting reading. And...it's also confidential. sometimes.

I guess you probably could make the T68 Java enabled, but this is a strategic move that the manufacturer of the phone made. I understand that you only have to write a Java enginge in the core software of the phone. Hence the upgrade fron Siemens SL45 -> SL45i..... that's only a software upgrade. No hardware changes there.

Practically this isn't possible. I trust you aren't a high level sw dev at SE?? You have to completely rewrite the whole sw core and then some... I said it was technically and theoretically possible, but I wouldn't bother to think about the possibility to do it. Buy a P800 when it comes... |

Well afaik the R5A software introduced limited support for WCSS, so some things are indeed usefull to read of... I'd like to know he they extended the support for WCSS in R5C...
