Sorry if this has been posted anywhere.. I am looking to get a K800i and currently have a Sony DSC T7 camera and a K750i would it be worth getting rid of both of these on Ebay and using the K800i for both.. is the picture quality that impressive on it? or is it still just a phone with the type of camera you only use if you have not got a decent one on you when you want to take a pic?
any views will be appreciated |

Its no way near the T7. Digital cameras are way better than any mobile camera |

Yep, i own a k800i, the pic quality is good, but u cant really say its better than a decent dedicated digi cam. It might beat a lower model camera if u get the setting and lighting right. |

Ok thanks for that!
I was not expecting it to be as good but if it was of a good enough quality to take good pics it would be easier than carrying 2 items round instead of one.

For taking shots while on travel or just on occasion the K800 is way good enough. Who orders prints in A3 format? Those scenes that are worth a shot (and a print afterwards) are normally in good lighting-conditions, right?
If you go for a foto-safari - then you will take a 8MPix oder 12 MPix camera with high-quality lens etc. with you. For almost all other occations I think the K800 is enough. |

just not got enough features compared to my ixus 50 - not enough manual controls, not enough fun settings.. to me... still a log way off compact digital...
I mean... nearly every camera has optical zoom.... which the k800 has not!

darryl, I'm in the same boat. Gonna get the k790/800 variant for partying/clubbing photos because its just too cumbersome to carry around all that blah. There is a section thread with k800 photo samples/check GSM arena's 3mp shootout gallery...
However, they don't seem to have many pictures of people in dark/hazy/crowded circumstances (where stabilizing and taking a good photo is difficult).
The main upgrade in this regard for the k800 over the k750 is the xenon flash... |

it is sufficient if the place where the camera will be used is not too challenging. if your intention is to take professional quality photos, obviously a camera phone will not suffice. it obviously will not match up to the manual controls and zoom of real digital cameras, but can a normal digital camera make calls, play music, play games and surf the net? thats where the k800i comes in - its an all-in-one device that will come in handy during travel and does its job pretty well.
here are some sample pics i took with the k800i.

If you are in singapore, then buy it!
So far, Singapore version is the best among K800 models
tight lens cover, less problems
I kept on farting...... |
