I've got a question regarding unrecognised file types on the k750 and how to get rid of them. i don't actually own 1, but am thinking of getting 1. with my older non-smartphones, sometimes when i install a java app that doesn't work, it says installation failed but i can't find the app and hence am unable to delete it. i realise it still takes up the space on the phone. so my question is, with the k750 will i b able to see these unrecognised files with the file manager and delete them? thanks.

yup. files with unrecognized formats are stored in the 'other' folder in the file manager. |

Thanks, appreciate the help. So even if the file type is not playable on the K750, I'd still be able to see it under "others"? And another question I have is whether a master reset would erase everything including user data and only restore the system files from the ROM, as it does on a Symbian phone. Thanks again.

There are two options with master reset. You can reset only phone settings, which will leave user data intact, or you can reset everything (both user data and settings), and that will restore predefined files and settings.

I see... So with the complete reset, will I get back all my free memory, apart from the space taken up by system files? What I mean is that I want a complete format of the phone memory, do not wish to have any unnecessary files on it that may take up space. Thanks.

yup. doing a master reset will restore your phone's memory -- it will be just like when you took it out of the box. |

Yes, I think that would be the case. You should have all your files deleted and the default ones should be restored. Off course, you can always delete those files (except two or three which are predefined and cannot be deleted) and free some memory. I'm not 100 % sure about this because I never done this with K series, only with T series phones.
