Hello,
i've got HBH-30 and sony vaio laptop with usb bluetooth adapter..(acer), i want to use my HBH-30 as headset with pc..
as i read here, and search on internet, i see that this ACER bluetooth adapter doesn't support HSP (head set profile) and some other support.. so my question is :
is it a driver (software) issue or a hardware ? can i wait for ACER driver that supports HSP or i better buy new USB-BlueTooth that supports HSP already ?
Thanks, Tadas

I think it's a software issue. I have a TDK pc card which didn't support the headset profile out of the box. I downloaded it from the TDK site and it works great now. I can listen to mp3's from laptop. The sound quality isn't that great but that is propably because the speaker in the headset isn't meant for music.

@ Tadas, not answering your question, though...
I have a few on my own about the Acer BT adapter:
- Can you transfer files form phone to PC adn vice & versa?
- Can you transfer files from PC to PC?
- Are you able to synch it with outlook using XTnd Connect without any problem?
- Does it work under windows XP?
- Is it hard to set-up? (The point being can you install it (& drivers) onto any PC without going through a load of hassle just to transfer some files).
- Can it be used on Mac? (transfering files from PC to Mac)
Thanks!

Hi, i didn't try connecting two pc's
i don't like XNDconnect or whatever,
with Buetooth Places i can synchronize t68i phonebook with outlook 2002 on window xp and that's enough for me. (i tried so far only contacts)
but i still can't make HBH-30 headset work as computer headset....
please someone help me with that.. those that say "YES it works, i can listen to mp3's and so on"
please......thanks |

Hi there,
Does anyone know whether the HBH-15 works for the same task? |

This is how it worked for me. I installed the driver that supported the headset profile. After that I paired the headset with the computer. At that point your headset won't take over the sounds from your computer. The last step you have to do is change the setting for sound in your computer. Go to my computer, control panel, sounds and multimedia and select audio. In the sound playback part of this screen you have a preferred device (this should be your sound card). If you pull down the menu a new option should appear "Bluetooth Audio". Select it and make it standard ie. use the apply button. This did the trick for me. Also every sound now goes through the bluetooth so if you want to use everything as normal change back to your sound card. I hope this helps.
(My computer runs windows 2000)

@ Joejoethejoey, it should be no problem to use the HBH-15.

thanks.... but !
it takes sound, if i connect headset the default audio becomes BlueTooth Audio, when i disconnect it defaults back to my laptops sound card....
but the issue is that when bluetooth audio is selected (connected HBH-30) or not, the volume slider is disabled, and moved to Lowest position..
what should i do ? did it happened to You ?????

You're right. The volume slider gets disabled when I select bluetooth. But the slider stays at maximum. So it is propably something in your computer doing this. |

arghh!!!
one more question,
my playback in Volume controls (mixer) is disabled, mic is disabled but near the max value, and there is
"Analog Connector" that is also disabled, but not "muted"
is it the one that uses sound ?
p.s. i hear "tshhhhhhhhhhh" in the headset, but no indication of mic activity even if i screaaaam aloud :|
Thanks for any advice..... |
