hello ppl
i m thinking of upgrading to a k750 from my current k508i. i was just wondering, n this may have been asked before.... is the k750i with flash equivalent to a 2mp camera? tried searchin but couldnt find anything along these lines. and i am wondering specifically about general picture quality, not portability and stuff where it obviously wins!!!!
p.s. i am from india by the way.

Why would you want a V3?
You're choosing from two very different handsets.
You'll get more for the K750 imo. |

it also depends what kind(brand) of digi cam .
there will always be cams that are very bad compared to a k750/w series , but there are certainly cams that much better then phone camera even its the same amount of MP
my 2 cents
proud owner of a 800i , 200i , p910i + route 66 mobile 2006 and a hbh-600 , gave my k800i to my girl ( enjoying my new WII and DS lite ) |

the v3i n not the v3........the v3i has got the expandable memory, good screen....1.3 mp cam n teh over-riding gr8 form factor to boot....thats why.....plus both almost same price.........thats it.......
as to the 2mp cam.....f the cam is good enough for general use then i will go for the 750i only.....am not a serious enthusiast for photography....just geeneral photos with printing the occasional one in 4X6(inches)...thats bout it....rest photos i ll keep on my computer only........ny suggestions? |

Just incase you weren't aware, K750 has expandable meory also (MS DUO PRO).
Also, you can print most K750 photos up to 8x10 and will come out reasonable.
Many photos will print out at 4x6 just as good as a basic compact 35mm camera, virtually unrecognisable as a "digital camera" picture.

if you compare it with a two MP digicamera like canon, then the digi is camera is better, especially at night. but it doesn't mean that the K750 is not good, on the contrary, it's amazing the quality and features you can get from this camera phone.
don't even think about choosing a v3i over a k750. A friend of mine bought the V3i and then had to sell it and get himself a k750. not even the V3x can be compared to the k750, IMO.

ya...know bout the mem on the k750i too......ve been reading up bout it quite a lot....n my frnds got it too.....just some last min checkin up n research actually......else its the 750i only.......
so 4X6 pics from the cam will be pretty good rite? then thats good i guess.....
p.s.: one last thing....what bout the 1.3 mp cam on the v3i....anyone knows about that firsthand? i know its no got autofocus tho........so how much of a difference do u think autofocus is goin to make to the picture quality....compared to...say the 1.3 Mp n also other 2mp phones wihout autofocus?(like the k610, only comparing the camera, mind you, not other features) |

I wouldn't go back to a cam without it personally. You get clearer pictures, can use the half-press to focus (so you can have out of focus in the centre of the frame when you need, not possible with fixed focus), you can avoid it when you want, enables the macro mode to work over a wide range rather than a fixed focal distance etc.
It's too good to ignore man

The K750/W800 offers very good quality pictures for a mobile phone - without doubt the best in it's class. They are great because they allow you to take acceptable quality photo's when you don't have a real camera on hand. But they don't offer anywhere near the quality of digi cam. From my experience the W800 is too grainy in poor light and has always suffered from vertical grid lines/hashing in the dark areas of almost all photos. Zoom in on any photo taken with a k750/w800 and you'll quickly realise they really aren't up to the quality of a dedicated digi cam. With that said - I have been able to get some very good photo's from my W800 - almost always in well lit conditions. But I have probably taken a lot more poor quality photos. The bottom line is: a real digi cam will always offer far better picture quality for 2 fundamental reasons: 1) a larger lens; and 2) optical zoom! Lets face it - it just is not practical to place a large lens and decent optical zoom on a mobile phone. Anyone who thinks a mobile phone can replace a dedicated digi cam is kidding themselves or just plain ignorant. |

Well we are talking comparative digital cameras here - no one is comparing K750 against a camera with optical zoom or massive megapixels.
Many low to mid range 2MP cameras have much poorer white balance than K750, no auto-focus, more pixelation (resolution isn't everything), a flash weaker than the K750 light, tiny washed out displays, shitty ergonomics, no lense cover....
The K750 is actually a digital camera morphed with a phone (unlike the K700 and earlier which just had camera modules tacked on in effect). The K750 is not a phone with a camera add-on. It is both of these things equally.

A close range shot using a K750. Macro and the LED light only...

Overall I think thats a great photo considering I'm used a K750 in a pitch black room, the only light was obviously coming from the LED.
