k800i number problem |

I have contacts in my phone, which show up with their name when dialled, or when a text is received, or when there is a message in the inbox, which is normal etc...
My friend however does not show up as his name, just his number, this happens for calls and text messages, I have done a master reset, only added him as a contact etc... but yet it still does it,
any ideas?

Guess I will have to wait for a fix/update. |

you sure the number isn't in twice somehow..
also, check the type of number that it is.. i had problems transferring my phone book, as i had some people stored under an "other" type of number, and my k800 didn't like that...

I have found the same prob, but its only on one of my mates who is on Orange? All other networks seems to come through ok?
I did have some details in there under other mind, but have been through em all and cant find duplications.!
Its well anoying, i know know his number!!
Am toying with the idea of removing all contacts and migrating them individually not all at once as i did from my K750i

I have the exact same problem when my dad rings me or sends me a text.
I checked through all of my phonebook and he is only in there once.
Its strange, he is the only contact that does this.
He is on o2, the same as me.
Very strange |

@adriandaz ...used to have a similar problem with the K750i. What I found was if I had a number where the last (end) few digits were the same as another stored number - I would either lose the caller picture or the name - Have a look and see if you have the same - |

Thing is though that i didnt have this issue with the k750i? Just transfered my address book over via BlueTooth?
I know its not the place, but anyone read or had any issues with MMS sending since switching?
I know had to switch to a new 3g sim and thats when all this seems to start..however I apparently cant run that sim in my old 2.5G phone? |

Hi guys, thanks for replying,
The phone number isn't a duplicate as I only store my numbers on the phone, not the SIM, and I have done a master reset and only tested it with this one particular number in.
It is very wierd,
I have also replicated the problem on 5 SE k800i phones, which suggests it is to do with the software, even the test phone at SE had the problem!
What is even more annoying, and confusing is that if I edit the number by one incremental digit at the end, it works correctly!
I haven't specifically tested it with software from another network, I am guessing it will be the same as SE will have an unbranded one?

Maybe you typed the number wrong, or stored it on your SIM - it does work if you store it on your SIM. |

I've tried it on 6 handsets now, 5 O2 and 1 "three" and they all have the same problem, even the one that SE have at their office |
