BT Outlook sync to T68i R2E006 |

I have:
T68i R2E006
TDK USB Bluetooth dongle, TDK Mobile V3.0
Win XP
Office 2002
XTND Connect PC V4.6
Generic clone PC desktop
I can send business cards between pc and t68i using TDK sw, BT seems to be working perfectly. I can not sync outlook using BT XTND, I get "Unable to detect phone".
It seems to me that BT sync on XP is very hit and miss, it only works for some people, I believe that I have all the latest sw but it just doesn't seem to work. I have reinstalled all sw but same result.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you using 'bluetooth serial port' when trying to sync with outlook??
I have a Belkin BT adapter and outlook sync works fine. |

I have no idea, I assume not. How do I find out if I am using USB Serial Port, what software is this set in?
Thanks for your reply. |

Great news, I got it to work.
I resolved the problem by going to Control Panel, Phone Monitor Options, then COM Ports and enabling the COM ports that are listed in mu Blue Tooth Neighbourhood serial port settings.
Seem silly to me that this doesn't just work by default with a standard installation, but this seemed to be necessary. Everything is working fine now.
Thanks for your help. |

Well my Sync worked for one day and now it doesn't work any more. I have no idea why, I don't think I changed anything. Here is what Ericsson customer support suggested via email (it didn't help me, but it might be useful to someone out there):
Thank you for your email regarding the Ericsson T68i. Yes Bluetooth is supported on XTND Connect. Firstly, we request that you check for a later version on XTND Connect on the SonyEricsson Web site mentioned below. You may also go through the troubleshooting steps that we have hereunder.
Firstly, disconnect Phone from PC then remove battery from Phone (DO NOT Turn Off First!!) Replace battery and turn back on, reconnect to PC (via cable, IR or
Bluetooth) and test again
You may also wish to restart the PC at this point also.
If first option fails press Control - Alt - Delete together and check that EPMWor~1.exe is running (for windows 2000 click on Task Manager then
Processes)
If it is not running, this can be done manually from : C:\Program Files\Ericsson\Communication Suite\Mobile Phone Monitor\EPMWorker.exe
If all the options above and below Fail, then get the software version in the handset upgraded to the latest version at your local Service Center
Ensure that the Bluetooth Card / Adapter has been paired with the Phone. In the Bluetooth software for your card / adapter Check that a serial port service has been started and which COM port has been assigned. Now check that this COM port is enabled in the Phone Monitor Options (Control Panel - Phone Monitor Options - Com Ports)
________
If anyone has any ideas for me please let me know.

I use a MSI usb dongle and have pretty much the same problems.
Sometimes it seems to help if you reserve the Com port the serial port is using.
I am going to buy a new dongle from Billington. That one seems to work fine. |

it could be there is a conflect in your USB irD or maybe another application is using your entire USB ports....try to disapple all other applications in your computer when you try to sync. or if your are using USB Hub try to connect your irD to the main USB port...if you still have problems email me @ gshanouda@rogers.com
I am a computer engineer I could help you...!
Good luck...!

I have the same problems. I have windoze XP and a T68i, I'm using Belkin's bluetooth USB adaptor with Ericsson Phone Settings 3.1.5.2.
I set everything up in Belkins software (pair the phones, set the serial port to COM 4 [and have tried COM 9 too]), but when I load the software up it fails to recognize my phone.
I tried another piece of software, (floAt's Mobile Agent), and okay, sometimes it dosen't recognize my phone atall. When I try the trick in the last post, ie. pull the battery out of the phone, then it works with fMA. With Ericsson's software, it will detect my phone, I enter a name for the SIM and etc etc, then it changes my phone clock to match the PC clock, and then, just kind of disappears. When I load the program up again, it still dosen't find my phone.. :-\
Are there any more Belkin users who can actually get their system set up and working? |
