Sounds like the memory stick or may some files may be corrupted on the memory stick. If so then you may have to format the memory stick, but you will lose all the contents that have been stored on it.

Backup your files to the PC. Then format the msd with the PC. Reboot fon wait to switch it bak on after taking batt out. Then stick msd in the fon. Reload files.

Actually, I have that problem with my W800i! On occasion the memory stick doesn't show up, and sometimes when connected to the PC it won't recognise it. I usually fix it by clicking the mem stick out of place then re-inserting it, that usually does the trick.

I suspect it could be dirty contact on the mem card reader, not sure how to get to them to clean 'em though!

You can try this. Take the memory out, with a rubber (preferly white semi hard one) rub the memory card gold contacts gently and blow off the rubber residue. I sometime use this to clean the simcard if i have finger prints/dust on it.

Hope this helps,

happened only 3 sequential times and never happened again, the msduo is hot swap right? meaning you can take it off whenever you like? it happend when i changed sims, and does the start up setup really need to be set up or is it ok to be exited quickly?

and i saw an icon at the top that has a handset and a red bar over it, what is that?i can still make calls as i thought it was a barring feature that i have accidentally activated.

I had similar problem with my memory stick. Some of the files (random files, music, pictures etc) dissapeared suddenly. Almost every day I was losing my files one by one. I don't know if they were deleted or only not recognized by the phone, so I connected my W800 to the PC. The PC couldn't see them too. So I found a solution (the same which was mentioned a few rows upper): FORMAT THE MEMORY CARD. I backed up the files left on my card and formated it with the phone (not the PC) and it works fine. I didn't experienced that problem again, but I lost many of my favourite ringtones and pictures that weren't backed up to my pc yet. So backup your files and format the card.
