I was just wondering why the K800 dropped in price so fast??? Is this phone having problems??? I've seen this phone going for $445 and its seems low to me. Im not complaing about the price just wondering why.
how would you compare this phone to the k750? |

i have been offered k800 barndnew, warrnyt etc for 385 euro, imo thats the accepteable price for it atm, more to ask fot it is madness... it hasnt got that much to offer compared to k750, w800 or w810 and imo the price will drop more in the next future.

I'd say its more to do with the fact that the price was high to start with, probably due to its anticipation and high demand.
now that its widely available and already free on some contracts, that tends to affect the sim free prices you are mentioning

445 is low? I think not.
K800 isnt a revolutionary phone, more of an update from the K750, which explains the low price. And for the comparison, i'd stick with the K750. IMO a small camera upgrade doesnt justify 450$. |

well in my opinion the k800 (apart from the 3mpx photos) isn't a spectacular improovement form the earlyer models (w810 w800 k750) it stil has qcif video (omfg they must be kidding) some models have died only a few days after beeing bought, some keypad problems, software glitchers ...
if you really want to buy one i'd sugest waiting a cuple of monts until a newer firmware version is available

plus its like its relatives the k750 and so forth they slept in price so very quickly. unlike the n series which will stay high in price throughout because of what it is and things that are capable with it. the k800i can always be beaten whilst phones like n80 or n91 cannot simply because they are unique

sure, some people have experienced some issues - this is always the case with a new release, but so far I feel comments on Esato are mostly positive for K800
I see no need to wait a couple of months for new firmware either. Thats not going to change the video issue and the K800 is very stable already.... and in any case... if you get the K800 now you get to enjoy it now and if a future firmware, which is easy to apply, can improve that experience then so much the better
K800 is definitly a leap forward from K750 with its larger higher res screen, cybershot features, improved connectivity and pc suite etc etc and i have no regret jumping in early

i personally don't like the k800, a mate of mines at work has it, don't like the colour, shape, think its a lil too big, camera is good, but am happy with my 2mega pixel camera on my w810i, think the w810i phone looks cooler too. |

I think the K800 is what the K750 should of been, I.E. it has 3G or EDGE, this is what every phone will need one day but for a successful communications device it's essential now.
It's just a shame they couldn't manage to put the phone in the same size as the K750 or K610 but maybe next year eh?
To me the camera is just a huge bonus along with 3G.
Who cares though as next year they'll all be 5 mega pixel or more camera phones as standard with optical zoom and half the size.
I don't think £329.95 from Expansys is cheap either, that's more then a 60GB Ipod Video.

I got a K800i after using a w800i for 9 months. The K800i is miles better. Better camera, better screen, better browser, faster menues, 3g, decent flash. The video part doesnt bother me as i never us it.

Why tons of ppl being sour here?
K800 is a really a good phone. It improved ALOT from K750
Listen to K800's speaker and then K750, oh my, the difference is HUGE! Picture taking, K750 did a great job and K800 is simply better.
For apperance, well that depends on personal taste.
K800 is a great phone, enough said

It seems like the price range of the 's - K series does not differ much from each other during it's initial release (price) : K700/ K750 and the K800 . . .

The k800 would be an ok phone, but it's still got a snide joystick.

Dude, that is just you. W800 is for sure not as good as K800. I can't bear with W800's small and suckie screen, comparing to K800, it is really crappy. Also, W800 doesn't have a real flash and only has a 2.0mp camera. Totally beaten.
The only thing better on W800 is the lens cover. At least i think so.
The only reason you don't like K800 should be the look. Come on, buddy, inside matters, too! |
