I was just wondering, considering the success of the way the K750i was branded into a W800i. Would the same thing be happening to the K800i?

The K800i looks a great phone, but since I mainly use my W800i for listening to music, and I like the way I can use my own headphones on the phone, I would be interested to know.

Regards,
Martyn

That is a slider phone, and it does not have a 3.2MP camera.

@Martyn1989 forget dreaming of a W phone with K800 specs,SE have now a "market segmentation" that means they wont make all in one phone,walkman will be only walkman with crap camera and k will be photografy with crap audio

Because SE is separating the two series' now, Walkman and Cyber-Shot, as the K series lacks a Walkman player, its only fair that the W series will lack the better Cyber-Shot cameras, at least until even better K series phones come out. If SE just made a W series phone the same as the K800, there would be no point in having a Cyber-Shot series, same as if SE brought out a K series phone with a Walkman music player, there would be no point in the Walkman series. It works other ways as well, if suddenly a W series phone had all the PDA functions of the P990, what would be the point in the P series or the P990 itself.

W = Music

K = Imaging

P = PDA

This is what makes the W900 better than the best. It has a camera which is slightly worst than K800 and video you can dream off. Sound quality at its max, 3G and a huge screen. What more do you want?

i think they kinda give the phones two features - look at the w950i:
it has pda style (touchscreen) and walkman (4GB hdd for music )

then look at the k800i:
it has brill camera (3.2mp) and the older w800i player

i'm fairly sure that the audio quality on the k800i is actually just as good as the w800i/w810i - otherwise se are stupid... the w800i/k750i had the same quality, right?

Yeah, although the W800's media player was branded and did have a few extra features, the K750 had exactly the same music quality etc.

The K800's music quality is superb and is perhaps even better than most of the Walkman phones currently out, if not all, but still it lacks a branded player and a few music features, but thats ok, as long as they don't start giving Walkman phones the same imaging capabilites.

I'm interested in what music features the K800 lacking compared with, say, W810?

I did a physical comparison yesterday between the music player of W810 and K800 and this was what I found...

the presenatation - the w810 player menu's slide in from the right whereas the K800 just appear

the W810 additionally has video as an option on the main menu where artists, tracks etc appears

the W810 can sort the songs on the phone by artist, title or date created

the W810 has megabass

however, the K800 can play WMA

to be honest, having not touched a walkman phone since the W800 I bought on the day it was released, I was dissapointed in how little real difference there was

but you are right about the K800 sound, it is very very good

I am looking forward to see the W950 but only because I'm already familiar with the M600 and want to see how it is transformed for music

edit: @QVGA, the K800 has the same headphones as the K750 and to be honest, I think they sound heaps better than those supplied with the W800/W810

^ Yep!

How come you can't sort the music via artist, title or date created?

I could with my K750...
