I put a new back and front case on my K750i today as I'm getting ready to flog it. However when I was going through and checking everything was working ok I came up wit hthis problem. I open the lens cover and go into the camera option but the screen looks like it would if the shutter was closed. The light will still come on if I press the "*" key and I can select the option, but no matter what I try the phone acts as if the lens cover is always shut.

I'd be greatful for any help.
Thanks.

You have broken the switch for the camera, this is common when chaning cases, you will need to replace the camera flex cable but when this is being fitted you should open the camera slide (on the case) when fitting as this minimises the risk of crushing the switch.

Thanks for the reply.

How would I go about sorting this out? Just taking it to a phone shop?

You could take it to a phone shop or do it yourself as the phone shops will charge a lot for that or alternatively you could send to me to fix.

Thanks for the offer. It'd be a great help, since I managed to break it without noticing I wouldn't be to confident about fixing it.

Remove the back cover again and put it back but this time do it with the lens cover open, that should fix it

This is the more likely cause. It happened to me when I changed the cover on my S700i.

There is a little toggle beneath the camera shutter on the pcb. It needs to be realigned.

Try putting the cover back on with the lens cover open and see if that works.
