Whit my old Nokia it was possible, within the sync software (Oxygen) to retain contact "categories" (friends, business, VIP) and assign ringtones to each one. Useful with hundreds contacts.
Would it be possible to assign ringtones to "groups" of contacts instead of going through a ono by one input. |

Maybe it sounds better: is there a simple way to apply a ringtone to a group of contacts? |

Hands on FMA sync utility I beleive the devolpment team can find a workaround.
I begin thinking that in the Nokia itself there was NO possibility to do so but the sync software was doing the dirty job:
1) Sync software managed categories mappings, I think 4/5 like Friends, Business, VIP, Other and you could choose what category field map from Outlook.
2) saved data in the sync util database
3) when syncing contacts it would check what "phone/group category" should apply and set one by one each contact ringtone.
Easy and skillfull having hundreds contacts in the phone!
I will post this feature in FMA wish list
