K800 Inbuilt Browser v Opera Mini |

Any preferences, and why?
I like the Landscape Mode of NetFront, but it always takes me to "Mobile" pages of some websites, for example www.bbc.co.uk.
I heard Opera transfers less data due to its compression. Is this true? |

The landscape version of the internet browser is very good in terms of viewing pages but in terms of usability and comparibility to a pc/mac internet browser, I think the Opera browser wins hands down.
If only Opera would release a version which works in landscape mode such as with the K800i.

To be honest, when I was using Opera on my W800 I prefered it over the SE browser.
However having used the SE browser that comes with the K800i, it has been improved by alot.
I downloaded Opera the other day for the K800i, and although presentation wise it looks better and for some reason, a few websites are displayed alot better, I still prefer the built in browser.
I will try to browse with both and come to a definitive answer, but for the moment, the SE browser's enough for me.

Most of the times Opera is awsome. But there're specific websites like mobile.msn.com which open like they're suppose to on SE browser but on Opera its like a full website which uses a lot of GPRS. |

How Opera Mini™ works:
Opera Mini™ is a Java-based (J2ME) browser solution where the full Opera browser is running on a remotely located
Opera Mini™ server rather than on the handset itself. The handset only needs to run a small (50-100 KB) Java client
to access the full Web. When a user requests a Web page, it is fetched by the Opera Mini™ server, reformatted with
Opera’s Small-Screen Rendering™ technology, compressed 70-80 percent and sent to the handset.
So the page is displayed much faster and cheaper, cause you don't have to download all the unnecessary stuff.
There's also a version of Opera mini which has been cracked by some guy, so you can use portrait mode: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=116808&start=0 |

I prefer opera mini as the page sizes are smaller, load quicker and looks far more like the original page than using the internal browser |

however that version won't run on K800. it gives an application error on startup.

that´s sad...maybe the russian folks are working in a new version
But the Opera should do an oficial landscape version too, it seems to be so easy to implement, and its so usefull at the same time

I really hope that the russian guy is working on new version that would work on K800.
I had the hacked opera on my w800, and it was really good!
Still dont understand why it wouldn`t work on K800 though...any ideas? |
