AFAIK they are supposed to send you out a new SIM.. I'm still waiting for mine, one week on. I'm getting slightly p***ed off with them. they keep promising to send it, or ring me to confirm, but they havent yet.

yeah i thought i needed a new SIM to access 3g, but when i got it through i rung up to activate it and accidently gave them the SIM number from my old 2g sim but 3g was still activated on it and worked 100%

Unfortunately O2 must have put a timescale on de-activating my 'old' SIM and last night i was left with two SIM cards - both saying 'Inactive SIM' lol, so i rung through this morning and activated the 3g SIM.. But basically yeah, i dont think you actually need a new sim to access 3g

Yep, just ring them up. They will put it through as a new order. When you receive the new sim you need to ring them again to deactivate your old sim, and enable the new one. You will keep the same phone number, and once activated it will be ready virtually straight away

I got my phone last week (O2) They included a 3g sim so I called them to enable it. They had to change my contract but that was just a bonus. They applied my £10 loyalty discount to the new tarrif and I now receive an extra 100minutes and 250txt per month!

It only took an hour or so for my account to change from one sim to the other, and the 3G services are enabled on your next bliing date!
