OK, so I have my new K800 and want to use the internet on it. Do o2 charge me to actually connect to it? Or do they only charge when I actually download onto my phone? (As i believe I have 1mb of data free with my o2 online contract).
Also, is there a difference if I connect using (what I would call) my normal connection or 3G? |

o2 will be charging whenever ANYTHING goes back and forward to your phone, that includes when you connect because there is information passed back and forward "handshaking" and stuff. Sony Ericsson phones have data counters so you can easily keep track of what data usage you are using (just remember to add both received and sent data).

mmmm strange, still getting free 02 gprs ?. With a contract and a pay and go ? lol..... what is going on.

they used to to unlimited gprs usage with tariffs back in the day but withdrew it after a while as it became more useful... |

Some tariffs have an allowance included, i.e. 1Mb as per first post.

yes, i have 1mb with the genie sim but i bought an imode phone for my dad (off esato actually  ) and it claims to have free imode for a few months but it stopped after a day :/

My friend had the same thing. It was only free for 3days after that he got billed for everytime he went on it. He phoned up 02 and they where very unhelpful about it(unlike them). i think hes just learning to live with it! |
