K800i, Sim Contacts and Outlook |

Hi,
I've just received the K800i (from CPW, vodafone branded).
I've copied all my contacts to the phone from the SIM and now want to delete the Sim contacts - is there a way to do this en-masse?
Also, I would like (once I've got the software installed) to manage my contacts through Outlook and sync them with the phone. Does anyone have a field map from Outlook to the phone? and/or any other experiences with managing contacts in Outlook?
Thanks

welcome to Esato
there is a delete all option for contacts but unfortunately it only deletes from the phone. There is no way to delete all from sim so you will need to delete them one by one and this is achieved by going into contacts, options, advanced, default contacts and select sim. Then delete one by one pressing the C key.
In all my years I have never been concerned about outlook to phone mapping as it actually does a very good job with the fields on both. Gve it a try and I'm sure you'll be satisfied too

Thanks for the reply.
Bit of pain having to delete one by one but it's a one-off.
Thanks for the outlook info, I'll install pc-suite now and have a play around.
The only outstanding question I had with syncing contacts with Outlook is :- is it possible to mark some contacts that you don't want to go over to the phone? I've got some business emails, etc. in outlook that I'm not interested in having on the phone.
Thanks

I've been doing a bit of investigating and have the following observations:
1. The definition of category in PC-suite is different to that employed by Outlook. I was hoping that I could categorise my outlook contacts, e.g. Business No Sync, etc and then be able to select which categories to sync. This is not possible from what I've seen. The usage of categories in Pc-suite relates to Contacts, Notes, Task & Calendar, e.g. you can elect which of these categories to synchronise - for example only sync contacts and notes.
2. In Pc-suite you can specify a folder that contains the items to sync for each category. I believe you could therefore create a new contacts folder in outlook for items you don't want to sync for example, and then move the contacts as appropriate to the new folder. If you leave the default folder to sync set to 'Contacts' the ones you don't want to sync should be ignored. NOTE : this should work but I've not tried it yet !!!

If you use the software below, you can manage phone and Sim contact seperatly and it does loads of other things
