Can someone help please.

I have a w900i that was locked by vodaphone. I recently went to Hong Kong and unlocked it. Once unlocked, i noticed that navigation was slightly slower and startup my phone is slower [very noticably]. So now i want to see whether i can change the firmware.

Apart from noticing slowness, my menu icons has changed [more nicer though so i dont mind it] but i'm now missing my vodaphone live thingy! I'm sure that before, i had a vodaphone live icon. Now i cant find it.

I've looked around and came across this SEUS and something about latest firmware. Can i ask whether by me updating my w900i to the latest firmware will give me back vodaphone live [and possibly have faster navigation]????

I'm not sure how old/new the Hong kong r5bb001 firmware is so i'm not sure whether updating will be better or not [like whether i'm missing anything]

I've looked at the firmware and its R5BB001 and flashed in Hong Kong. I'm from the uk on vodaphone.

Help appreciated

thanks for the quick reply.

so does this mean that i can never use vodaphone live again????

i've just read through the forum and read somthing about branding. what does debranding mean and what are the benefits??

i've never done much with mobiles except to make calls and texts, so i'm pretty new to all this.

thanks

debranding removes the operators firmware ie vodafone links and wap setting start up logo etc normally should make the phone 'faster' the only way to get vodafone live to work is to get vodafone to send you the settings or go to thier website for more details
5 times european champions priceless, there are something money can't buy,for everything else there is always chelsea

If the firmware you're getting is not branded, the phone will be still unlocked.
Let's say vodaphone has firmwares of their own, so if they upgrade your phone with their firmware, you will get all the settings from them; and if you upgrade the firmware from SEUS (they're not branded) you're phone will be unlocked still.
