My k800 Troubles |

Well, ive not posted here before, but i thought i may aswell post somthing slightly interesting for my 1st post heh.
My k800 desided to break today, only had it for 1 whole day lol.
a problem arrose when i opened the camera cover, it had worked fine several times before that day already, why should this time be any different, anyway, the BestPic logo came up, and stayed up, for nearly 5 minuits. i was unable to turn off the phone, so i had to unplug the battery, and try again.
When i tried to turn the phone back on, it was painfuilly slow, the SE logo stayed on the screen for nearly a minuit before i could select normal or flight mode, which then took around 30 seconds to get to the main menu, which then stuck. After about 5 minuits of it being stuck there i was able to use the phone(for the least part anyways) i now found that i was unable to access texts, call lists, contacts, any files, camera, nothing basically. every time i did, the phone would lock up, then after nearly 5 minuits of being locked up it would reboot. I even tried with a different SimCard just to see if it was that for some reason, but that did just the same.
Its a shame, because ive had quite a few different SE phones and never had a problem, i just hope sony can sort it out soon(just emailed them, as their phone lines are closed till monday, so hoping i MAY get a responce tomorrow, not holding out for one tho)
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this yet?? |

Not had the problem you had but mine stopped working completely today. Its the first SE phone that i have had (and thats most of them) that has had a fault.

first of all - welcome to esato!
bleedin heck! thats bad! - looks like sony ericsson haven't done enough beta testing doesnt it? - right...i think there will be a need for a re-flash to your phone, and Sony Ericsson will be releasing a new firmware very soon at a good guess if this is the case for most of the k800s!

On another note, i dont even seem to be able to get past the normal/flight mode selection anymore *sigh* heh |

Whats with the K800 problems? Everyday people are complaining, and about serious issues. |

I see this as no different than every other phone in its early days. We always get a rush of incidents and issues, some serious, some that are simply not understanding new features
after 2 weeks I'm certainly very pleased with the K800 but its always dissapointing to see these kinds of troubles

Hello guys,
I'm facing a camera-related bug as well.
Most of the time (that is 75% at least), whichever way I turn on the camera on my k800i (via menu or slider) it will stay "blind".
I only have a black screen with concentric dark grey circles (kind of light analysis area). If I half-press the shutter button to force the autofocus, I end up with flashy electronic blur.
And then, suddenly, it works.
Here is a sample of what I get on the screeen :
