It's sad to say that I, someone in their late 30's, am experiencing withdrawal symptoms while my W800 while it is away for repair! I could be without my phone for 3 or more weeks which seems almost unbearable to consider.
It is amazing how such a small thing became part of my everyday life. When I think about it I used my phone everyday in more ways than I realise. You don't appreciate how much you use the phone. I now realise that nearly everyday I took the following for granted:
1) Good quality phone calls
2) SMS/MMS
3) Speaker phone
4) Loud and customisable ring tones
5) Playing games when on the loo, waiting for Chinese take out, bored at meetings, etc
6) The sheer number of java games/apps you can install
7) Listening to music when walking, jogging - now it's all silence
Always having a decent quality camera available
9) Hands free calls when driving
10) Voice Dialling
11) Just playing with around with it when bored in awe of everything it can do
12) Having a bright light always available
13) Mucking around with FAR
The list could go on but I think you get my point. I've been given an old Nokia 3210 brick to use while the phone is away. It makes you realise just how far phones have come in such a short time. I can't wait until my w800 comes back. I feel like part of me is missing.

@mongoose - If your W800 was compared with that of a human (3 weeks unde repair) . . . that could have been in the comatose stage already . . . I hope it will be sent back to you as soon as possible

I know exactly how you feel. It like you've lost a limb or something.
@daremo.
I came in the other night and was totally P*ssed as a fart and don't remember getting home at all.
When I woke up in the morning the couldn't find my W900i which I had just purchased. I stumbled around bumping into doors and things, looked under the pillow and places and then started swearing at myself.
Luckily, it was on the settee on charge
I lost about 25lbs during that ordeal |

It's good to see that others feel the same and that I'm not insane. It just goes to show how much these phones have formed a normal part of everyday life - right down to going to the toilet. |

Got the same feeling when I had to get my K700i repaired for minor water damage...it was gone for a whole week and I was back on my T68i.

Got my phone back!! 2 weeks - not too bad a turn around I guess. As soon as I got the call I was out of my chair and on my way to pick it up. The Fast Port connector was replaced and it would seem the problem is fixed. The only downside is that the phone came back with a complimentary supply of dust under the screen and a nice dark hair. I couldn't be bothered complaining or sending the phone back. So I took the phone home and popped the front cover and cleaned it all with a camera cloth. As good as new again. I'm so happy to have my toy back! |
