Directly putting them might be tacky.. Try and search around here for the 'FAR manager' thread and perhaps using that you'd get joy.. Just be sure to read up the instructions & follow properly. Coz its got all Screen Shots, FAQ n all. So FS or something to close on screen.. Sorry dont have the ATM, but being a fairly hot topic you should pin down few threads easy !

Maybe when you've downloaded the games (the files are .jar and jad) you mismatched the JARs as RAR files (winrar knows to extract the jar files as they would be rar ones) and you extracted them.
If you don't have anymore the jar files, try to archive each game folder as RAR and after that rename the extension as JAR. Or try with a java packer.
Keep in mind that each game should have a JAD file next to the JAR file (if you plan to download the game later by wap, or to install with different software) so you can make a JAD file with "makeJAD" or "JADgenerator".
But most important, in most cases, only the JAR file is installed, so, within the JAR archive, there should be a META-INF folder with a file called "MANIFEST.MF" that specifies the game name and java MIDP profile.
Also in the manifest file is specified the main class of the game, but that is not an executable file.
In order to run onto the phone, the game must be packed as JAR file. |

what is the format of the files?
note: if you have winrar installed, they jar files will have a winrar icon. but you can't confuse a winrar file with a jar file. you must see the files' extension before putting them in the mobile.

you sure you're putting them in the right folder in the mem card?? Search for the directory Other, wich should be with the Games, Pictures, Themes, etc folders. Put the JAR files in the Other folder. Then go to the phone
to that folder and select Install. You have to install them one by one. Cheers

I use MyPhoneExplorer. It's very easy. All I do is download the game and drag and drop it into the 'Other' folder then install the game through the phone.
MPE is great for sending all kinds of things to your phone. So for those who arent confident with FAR use MPE. Best of all its free. |

I too am having problems with installing games onto my phone (w810)
I don't have any problems with games that are .jar files, I'm struggling to install the .rar files. Even using MPE doesn't work ! I've tried
extracting them and not extracting them but it doesn't work! It doesn't give me the choice to install. Can anyone out there please help !!
thanks! |

rar files are not games, they are like zip files. Download WinRar and extract them, you should find the Jar files inside.

I send my games to the phone by bluetooth from the pc. If they come as both a .jad and a .jar file, and the .jad file won't install by sending it to the phone by bluetooth, then I put both jad and jar in the 'OTHER' folder. Then on my phone go to the other folder, and click install. Hope it helps. |

Putting games on your SE is as simple as 1-2-3. When you have installed the SE PC Suite yoy only need to open the File Manager. You will see a folder open wich shows your phone. Now...if you have the .jar file just drag-and-drop it onto your phone. Your phone will ask you to save the file in the apps folder or the games. If you have a .rar file, open it with winrar. If you see a .jar file inside, just extract the file. If you see many other files other then the .jar file, you'll need to rename it to .jar. Then drag-and-drop this file onto your phone. This will also work with any other BT program. Just to be clear on the .jad files........these are not needed on SE phones. These are mainly used by Samsung phones.
Really, you don' t need to go thru the trouble of using other programs to do this. I have done it like this since I have had my first SE
Hope this helps
Oh yeah.......if you want to share your games with friends then you do need to browse your phone for the Others-folder. When you have put the files into that folder, you can bluetooth the game to another SE phone. It will install automaticly onto the other phone
