what does the o2 branding affect on the phone? is it just visual? ie some screensavers and menus?

...or have they removed features and put a 'walled garden' on the web browser like 3 have with mine?

o2 is absolutely beautiful this year.
nothing's been removed, only thing is a few little links to o2, and the o2 hopepage. which can be changed anyway.
very well done o2

I've been with o2 for the last few years, and i can't fault them for not hashing around with the phones they sell, only adding some images etc.

Must say, it's pretty much nothing. They have changed 1 icon which should lead to "play now"? not even sure what that should do, but it now leads to the O2 wap/web page, but still able to go to all other sites I've tried. Other than that I can't see any changes, not even got O2 start up and shut down screen.

@luuuuke, Give it ago. What have you got to lose? Would think they would do some sort of a deal for you. But be warned although they leave the phone alone, my experiance and other is that there customer service isn't all that. So you may gain a pretty much unbranded phone but you'll lose any good customer service you currently have.

I've had a number of O2 phones, and the branding hasn't been too bad on any of them. Certainly the worst I've experiened was when they took out My Friends on the K700i, and also the numerous phones where there has been locked content, eg pics I couldn't delete even if I wanted to.

But the K800i is superb. All the pics they include can be deleted, all the features are there, and the only tiny thing (as people have said) is the absense of the play now button and the link to their wap site.
