that will be good for 3rd party applications on products as opposed to Symbian's somewhat sparse apps

Is there a product that is based on PALM OS in use on a SE phone? This sounds good for any future phones using palm os.

I don't see any applications coming from palmsource working on the p800..

Booker, no Palm OS apps will run on SE phones because the OS's are incompatible. What the article is talking about are apps in the different OS's using a common interface to talk with one another. Although this is already possible through the use of profiles and other interfaces, the new functionality will be "out of the box", meaning you won't have to have technical knowledge to get things going. That's a big step forward for Sony who has interest in giving their SonyEricsson phones and Clie handhelds better compatibility.
