Ryanair - Flight Mode? |

I am due to go on holiday to Italy in August and hope to take my K800 that I will recieve soon with me. Now I also would like to use my K800 on the plane going there and coming from for music, gaming and possibly camera purposes etc and I was wondering if Ryanair, who Im flying with, will allow me to use my K800 on flight mode...
I checked their website and only found: "Mobile Phones and Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) equipped with wireless phone connections may be carried only in cabin baggage but must be switched off once the aircraft doors have been closed for departure and cannot be used during a flight." So I'm still not sure whether they allow it because obviously that does not mention flight mode at all.
What I want to know is if anybody has flown with Ryanair before and whether you know if its ok to use a phone as long as flight mode is on? If I can't get help here, then I suppose I will have to contact them via email or whatever, but I hoped I wouldn't have to lol.

*It seems I cannot contact them due to the fact there is no contact number or email address for 'non-booking' purposes, damn.

When it is in flight mode it isn't a functioning mobile phone.
The clue is in the name.

Best way is probably to show one of the flight attendents the boot screen with the Flight Mode option as your getting on, if it's someone in the know you'll be ok.

I too hand it to @J99i..
Coz though I have not flown Ryanair (I'm not a no frills guy  ) or actually ever been out of Asia...
I know that the filght attendents did give me/us lee way than the announced code of conduct.. which anyway is towards the extremes of safety..

I DID get to use both my P910 (in flightmode) and lappy to work on.. thou both these things they advice against..

Its an overdo of 'if such & such...' syndrome anyway..
Newer craft as such have much protection against electronic interference to/ thru those device

Not that simple I'm afraid. I recently flew with Thomsonfly and MyTravel and in both cases, the flight attendants made it very clear that mobile phones were not allowed to be used even if they have flight mode.
Can't speak for Ryanair but based on my experiences, I'd guess that you probably won't be allowed to use the phone in flight mode

^ Yeah thats what I fear, but also the flight attendants tend to be a bit  when it comes to these things, and I'd expect them to get all confused and not actually understand what I'm telling or showing to them, but of course I don't want to make a scene on the plane with everyone there lol.

I used ryanair a little while back and my mate took a PSP with him. All they said to him was that it must be switched off while the plane is taking off, and after that he could have it back on.

Problem I've got is that although planes will usually allow portable games consoles and other electronics such as mp3 players and laptops etc. They are very strict about the use of phones, due to the signal messing with the planes signals and such etc. So even if I do have flightmode, some won't understand or trust it. If you get what I'm saying...

i took mu phone on a ryanair flight between my home town and Dublin and had it on the whole way..
granted i didnt use it but all this talk of planes crashing due to mobile phone reception is utter trollop.
when did you last see a plane crash due to mobile phone signals?
and while i was on said flight just to be doubley naughty i didnt turn off my ipod just removed my headphones. oh and guess what!? im still here.. noo plane crash for me!

But don't you think that maybe planes don't crash because of phone signals because... wait for it... your not allowed them on!?
Obviously phones are a weak and a rare risk, like at pertrol/gas stations... I never turn my phone off and they don't explode lol... BOOMBAnot.

I've been (forced) using Ryanair once and been flying hundreds of times with other carriers (businesstrips). Ryanair is THE ONLY carrier that I have been YELLED AT for talking silently to my colleague during the safety demonstration. Incredible....
I suppose that anything can happen if you fly Ryanair...
