My mum got the N80 on o2 with cpw and she got a new sim card that her number is going to be transfered to and as she gave me the N80 im wonderig if the new 3g sim will work in a K750?

no it wont, k750 hasnt got edge, that could have been a solution. i used my "3" card in 6230i, cos it has edge, so i could have make calls, sms and browse the net etc

I have used an o2 3g sim in a T68i so it should be ok in a k750i.
@boba what does edge have to do with a 3g sim. they are completely different.

Just tried it out for you.

It'll get a signal, but it won't dial out (for me at least) and when you try and send a text message it says "Setup required. For info, contact your operator or http://www.sonyericsson.com/support".

Just tried again and it did dial out actually. Maybe someone was just using my home phone before when I tried to call it. Might just be a case of checking the SMS settings then. Obviously none of the 3G services would be usable.

Edge is more advanced as gprs, so when for example in austria, where 3 is roaming on vodafone, cos 3 has no coverage, 3 fones use the voda umts system, which support 2.5 g, so a 3g card can in an edge supported fone works fine.

i am using my 3g o2 sim on my T630 while i was waiting for my k800 to be delivered so it does work making calls and sending texts

@the person who asked y i got a 3g Sim its cos its came with the n80 which is a 3g phone
