K800i - change settings |

Ive just bought an O2 K800i and am using an orange sim. Im wanting to change the voicemail default dialling no. If I press 1, it dials the O2 voicemail number (901) rather than Orange (123). Anyone any ideas?
Also, if I press the volume control it displays the previous owners mobile no rather than mine. Again, any ideas?

Either put 123 in your phonebook and speeddial the entry to number 2 key-or ring Orange and ask them to send you a VMAN! Hope this helps :-)

Stands for VoiceMailAccessNumber-it allows the network to remotely change the number 1 key to dial a predefined number (123 in your case). It comes through as a text message which you delete then turn your phone off and then on again! Hope this works!

The previous owners mobile number? Has the K800i already been bought and sold second hand in such a short space of time? WOW, that's fast! Unless I'm reading you wrong? |

I'm fairly sure you can change the voicemail and your own number in the settings somewhere with other SE phones. Sorry i can't be more specific, but have a good look in the messaging settings (i think that's where the voicemail stuff is) |

Yes. I have a Nokia N80..Cant make my mind up whether I like it or not and have just bought a K800i from someone who got it from O2 as an unwanted upgrade. So far, very impressed with it.. |

You can change the voicemail number in settings menu in messages.

Thanks for the replies. However, none work!
Ive gone into contacts>options>special number>my numbers>my mobile. At this point, I do not have the option to edit my number. It only displays it..
With regards to the voicemail settings, there is not an option in Messages to select voice mail settings...
Surely there must be more people who have had this problem! |

this simply means the SIM card has disabled the option and there is nothing you can do within the phone. This is almost always the case with Orange in all the similar topics I have replied to here on Esato.
