yes, you should be able to - but at the moment, as no one has recieved there k800i as of yet, they will not be able to test - i think you'll have to ask someone from Hong Kong (that's where they released before the UK, isn't it?) to test for you.

you should be able to, but if you are not intending to use any of the 3g features - mobile tv, faster data transfer, video calls etc. - then i'd try and get the k790i if i were you - save some money.

don't worry if you do want to use the k800i as a 3g handset, if you don't want to lose your current mobile number etc. - phone up o2, vodafone, t-mobile, orange, or whoever your network provider is - then ask for them to send you an upgraded sim card.

also, if you mean whether there is a bug that doesn't allow the phone to operate fully without a 3g simcard as in the nokia n70 (??? not sure about the model) - then again, because people have not got them on a mass-scale / anybody on here (have you????) - then i do not know. but it should not, but then again - if there is a bug, then sony ericsson may be reluctant to update the firmware to fix it - because it's a pretty easy fix to just get your sim card upgraded to a usim card.

At least there were no problems using GSM sim-card on my K600i, now I have changed all my three sim-cards to 3G ones, so I cannot test.

ok, good - because it would be rather disappointing for many people if not.

So do you have to buy a 3G sim card to use the 3G functions and features? If so where and how much?

So if I'm buying a K800 from O2, will it be supplied with a 3G sim?

Imo it depends on the fone and operator, not on the sim. My tmobile card is 1 year old, when i bought it, the op didnt offered 3g yet, now it works fine in any umts fone.

Oh ok...

So what is a 3G sim card for?

Does the K800 have TV?
- Is it expensive to use?
- How do you use it?

I just ordered a K800 on O2...
- Will it have a sim card?

K800 doesn't have TV as such, but will do vodafone Sky TV via 3g streaming, and also other streaming in a similar way

on vodafone you can get their complete sky package for £10/month

you use it by going to vodafone live and clicking an option there. it will be similar for other services

if you have taken out a new contract you will get a new SIM card

Ok thanks...

I assume you can access Vodafone Live via the internet or some other way, since I'm with O2...?
