ok this is gonna be long so please bear with me! ive been with o2 for years and years (bout 7) and have always got free wap til the othger day.

so i decided to cancel and go to tmobile on flext 35 web n walk. all great and got a pink mda too! however o2 refuse to let me go lol
they offered me a free k800 and 500 texts 500 off peak mins for £15, so yeah thought id have that as well.

problem is... the pac code! i wanted to take my old o2 number to tmobile. i emailed a few times and finally they gave me the code. this was before i agreed to the new contract btw. so now i have given tmobile the pac code and they will port the number on 5th july.
so basically what im asking is what will happen to my new o2 contract???
the o2 lady has ordered it for me, and phone will be here tomorrow apprently!! will the o2 contract just cancel on 5th july??

any help would be great cheers

You are not in an easy area to get out of. The best thing to do if possible would be to cancel the number port with t-mobile and let them give you a new number to use and therefore your o2 number stays o2.
The biggest fear is that if the number port goes through and cancels your o2 contract you may be billed for an entire years worth of line rental along with phone costs. It is not a good situation to be in

basically on the 5th july between 11-4pm your o2 phone will loose reception and your tmob one will gain the o2 number...

turn the tmob phone off and back on and away you go...

If you ordered your PAC and afterwards upgraded your account with a new phone the PAC is automatically cancelled.

If you keep the phone you will be locked in to a new 12 or 18 month contract. However because it is an online purchase you are only locked in to O2 if you decide to keep the unit, you have 14 days to return it. A tariff upgrade only does not lock you in unless you take an account credit in leiu of a mobile.

If you keep the O2 phone, when T-Mobile attempt to port it will fail and they will leave the T-Mobile number as it is. If you have gone over the 7 days for Distance Selling Directive or 14 days that you have to cancel the T-Mobole contract (I presume it was done online) then I'm afraid you are going to end up with a locked in O2 contract and 18 month flext T-mobile contract.

Neither company will be obliged to cancel their end of the deal as you made the decision not to go ahead with the O2 cancel and port.
