Why not flash a whole new firmware just using Da Vinci? You have to pay a minimal amount, but it will completely override the Orange branding for you.

Well, in a word - yes.

So it's entirely up to you on whether it's worth it or not. Ultimately, FAR manager is also altering phone software, so that is voiding any warranties also... (I don't believe FAR is compatible with W810 -CID49 phones- at this stage anyhow).

I have a K750, with three year warranty, and chose to use Da Vinci and FAR to tweak the OS to how I like it, as I feel it is highly unlikely that the service centre would notice this if I were to put the phone in for a hardware service.

In fact I've already had the joystick replaced once without any of my software tweaks being picked up on.

However! My phone was unbranded when purchased. An Orange service centre may be more diligent at spotting one of their phones with the default SE menu.

If anything were to go wrong with the software on my phone where there may be a window for the service centre to do some exploring, I'm pretty confident I can take care of software servicing myself, so I wouldn't be putting the phone to them for this anyway.

I guess what you need to think about is how much value you place in removing the branding on your phone. I know if I had a branded phone I'd be wanting to restore it to neutral as soon as possible, but don't let me influence you.

Maybe some other W810 Orange users could share their experiences on this? As this is what it's really coming down to. Cheers.

ahh, i see mate. thanks for that

Its not teh branding that bothers me really, its just id like to customise my icons etc... not to worry tho - i haggled for free insurance, it'd be sucha waste for me to void that now - also i have butter fingers and tend to have regular accidents lol

Thanks tho
