Best handset to upgrade from K750? |

Hello all
I'm past my year's rental with Voda UK, and am considering upgrading. What handsets should I consider. Here is how I use my phone:
- I take a lot of photos, and have loved the K750 quality, but only when it is really sunny (see some of my photos in the Esato gallery)
- I watch a lot of videos converted from DVD using Nero Recode, but would be very interested in something with a bigger display, and capable of playing higher-res, higher bit-rate, higher frame-rate videos. Also, the max volume on videos is way too low
- I listen to a lot of music, and am extremely frustrated by the K750's limited media player (always having to sort playlists by title to get tracks in order, etc)
- I own a 2 gig pro duo already
I am not particularly bothered about:
- 3G
- calendar/organiser functions
- WAP/email/web browsing
What do people think I should go for? I like the sound of the K800/K790 (what is the difference?), but have no idea when it will be available on Voda UK. I also like the sound of the greater video playback capability of the W900.
Obviously I run the risk, if going for a Voda handset, of getting a customized handset, but they often don't really affect core functionality, so it's probably still worth going for, if the handset is a real upgrade.
Or maybe I should simply buy a better set of headphones for watching videos on my K750. What would people recommend?
Thanks for any opinions
Tom

Well if you watch films on your K750 then going to the large 2" K800 display will be like going from an old crt telly to the latest plasma. Plus it has a great camera. You will need to buy a new memory card though but the M2 cards seem to be cheaper then the duo cards. The K800 media player is said to be very good as well up there with the W800. THe K800 is out this Month or next so Voda should have it very soon, look through the threads on these forums.
If you go to the dark side then the Nokia N91 is a very good music player with 4GB hard drive, 2MP camera and a bigger screen then the K750.
Failing all this then wait till next year as a rumoured Cybershot P990 is going to be out early next year, if they ever launch this year's model that is. |

Well I'd choose the K800 and if you really wanted, the W900. The K800 has a more saturated and sharper screen (from comparisons on mobile-review) but the W900 has more memory, and sports a memory stick pro slot.
I'd still go with the K800.

Thanks for the excellent info, everyone. I am tending towards the K800. I'm pretty much a SE loyalist, so don't want to go to Nokia, and if I am going to the hassle of upgrading, I do want a better camera. If the screen is also better, then that should clinch it.
One question: one of the irritations of the K750 is that, although the screen res is 220x176, or whatever it is, full-screen landscape videos are only 176x144 interpolated up. Is that still true of the K800?
As for upgrading, perhaps I would be wise to switch to O2 to give myself the best chance of getting a handset quicker, and of getting something unbranded. DRM does my head in.
Thanks again, all.
