K750i on the CDS-60 Charging base |

I just got my K750i It's resting on my desk perched atop the CDS-60 Charging Base. I look up from my keyboard from time to time to look at my blasted silver beauty and smile. Life is good...or, is it?
There is slight problem. When I bought the Charging base, I was under the impression that the cables (AC and USB) that come with the phone would be all I needed. But, I had a rude awakening this afternoon. I discovered that the design of the two cables that accompany the phone makes it impossible to have both plugged into the back of the base at the same time. (Because, the USB cable is crooked- you know what I mean.)
It's either the power cable, or the USB cable. So I can't do what I bought the base for in the first place. I also can't run out just yet and buy a straight cable.
So, my question is this (Ya, all that to ask a stupid simple question, hehe)...If I use the USB cable alone, would that charge the phone?

Welcome to Esato
The USB lead will also charge the phone as long as your computer is on.

Hmm. The USB cable I have has the lead coming out of left side of the connector, and has a headphone symbol on it. Not anything like your setup. Could this be a peculiarity of the K750c model (as mine is)? Could this also be the reason why I'm having so much trouble with USB connectivity? |

headphone symbol?
shouldn't that be the handsfree earphone plug? |

First of all, my apologies to Kate, who I love more than the K750i. Both, of course, are trouble.
Secondly, as you can see from the pic, it's not the handsfree headset connector, but I can't seem to figure out what it is- have checked the Web fruitlessly for a clue. If someone can help identify it, I'd really appreciate it. I have virtually no USB connectivity at this point. Wondering if it’s the cable.

Can I ask where you purchased this cable from? The end that connects to the phone is most definately intended for use as the headset cable (as g-roxx0304 has identified) but clearly has been stuck onto the USB lead!! Very curious. This would very probably be the cause of the USB connectivity. I would suggest purchasing a genuine SE cable. |

I bought this- brand new and boxed- from eBay (US). The box came with a Sony Ericsson Chinese manual with "K750c" written on it. The phone has a Vodafone logo at the bottom, but it's unlocked. The box had all the accessories in it...Sony Ericsson leather case, 512MB Memory Stick Pro, European power cord, Handsfree Headset, and this cable.
I’m able to connect with it with SE File Manager and with FMA, but it’s inconsistent. I also able to transfer some data through SE File Manager, but *not* through FMA. Furthermore, neither SE File Manager nor FMA will read the stick. It’s almost as if it doesn’t exist.
Any help would be appreciated.
