I have a friend that when she was at Japan bought a Vodafone SH703, and coming back to Spain, she bought a Sharp 703 (the same), but she wants to put the Japanese interface and she wants to be able to write in Japanese, of course.
To sum up, turning it japanese

What should we do? Unlock it and flash it with some non-official firmware?
Or there is a safer way?

Thank you very much in advance

Hi usur

this is the Sony Ericsson forum, your question regards to a Sharp phone

you might want to try posting in the "other manufactures" part of the forum instead to perhaps receive more answers.

Esato can help you because Esato is packed with clever and friendly people!!!!

There is not a lot that you can do.

If you use the non Japanese phone you can input a little Japanese using a Japanese stored template and a copy and paste method.

Tedious but it works. Your Euro Sharp phone should be able to display Japanese in songs info, address etc etc....

see this forum

http://forum2.mobile-review.com//showthread.php?t=45084

and look for postings by AL

The Japanese model, even if unlocked will have a reduced amount of services. i.e. my unlocked 802se ,with Japanese firmware, cannot send and receive emails.

Good luck!
