I'm thinking about getting the N80 and want some users to tell me what they think of it?
If you could tell me the positive and negative points and your overall impression that would be great thanks

i used one for a little while . really really liked it. Awesome phone.
the only negative is the poor battery life(only lasts a day)
i was using the N91 at the same time and stupidly decided to keep the n91 over the n80. completely regretted it!

Well i have had my N80 for just over a week and i got too say its probably all round the best phone to date i have owned. At first i was a bit wary thinking it looked big and bulky and the battery life also worried me dearly. Results from the cam i had seen online were also dissapointing. But after a good deal i managed to get a brand new sim free one and instantly fell in love. Its not too bulky at all maybe a little think but does not feel it. The slide is a bit too loose i feel there is no click or reassurance with it but saying that it seems solid. The screen is absoulutely amazing on it better than w900i i would say. (which i have owned). The camera is okish i have got reasonable results from it though a fw upgrade improves this dramatically. (look at the whizz's shots in the picture thread). The MP3 player on it is also quite capable i have put a 1gb card in and put around 100 songs on and its fine, music plays in the background too soo you can surf the net via wi-fi or wateva with your fave tunes playing. Video seems decent too though not extensively tested that yet. Also concering battery life mine has improved over since i have had i charge it once every 2 days thats with around 2 hours of mp3 playback 30 mins calls load a texts bit of surfing via wi-fi and using the BT a bit. Overall like i said its an amazing phone with the only negatives are cam quality and the easily opened slide. Though a fw upgrade will improve the quality
Here is a pic taken by the N80, my 8800 using the macro mode...
and a quick pic of the N80 itself

I bought one (my very first nokia after years of SE's and ericssons before that) and i can say that it is a lovely phone. At first i thought it was a bit shit because of the way nokias work but once i got used to it i loved it. Screen is amazing, battery isn't that good but i can get 2 days out of it if i wanted to, maybe longer). Hardly any branding (which is a really nice change from Orange se's i've own before). Web brouser is brilliant, cam is pretty good, on a par with the k750 if not better (wont be as good as the k800).
I was going to buy the k800 but it was taking too long for it to come out in the uk so i took the risk and got the N80 instead, as of yet i dont regret the decision

Cool thanks everyone, got a few questions for those of you that have/had the N80.
Is the camera really that bad? can it be compared to say the K750?
What is the video like? W900 6280 or not as good?
Thanks again |
