Solution to W800i Rubber Tip on Joystick Problem Now With Pics |

Ok so today i finally had time to do it.First of all i want to tell you that this method is quite efficient in grip and looks the only downside it the fact that it doesn't last very long, this could be from the fact that the plastic i used is not very expensive nor is it ment for this kind of job, although in your country it could be slightly better.Sorry for the low quality pics but my camera is kind of old (some Camedia 150 or somehow). Here is my phone before:
Here we go:
1.Prepare everything on the table:
I used:
>A piece of paper
>A glue gun (you can find it probably at your average tool shop, shouldn't be more than 500 kronkers or 5 pounds)
>My mobile phone ( )
>A roll of duct tape
>Your best friend to help you
2.Wrapping the phone:
Take the piece of paper, make a hole in it (smaller than the joystick) then stretch it around the phone securing it with duct tape on the back of the phone. Then slowly push the paper around the joystick so it will fit with no gaps between (use your nails or something). The final thing should look like this:
BTW this all wrapping sh*t is for your good so you won't ruin your phone, first time i did it i didn't wrap it properly, now i have a small stain on my nr 2 button.
3.Preparing the glue gun:
This one is really easy, just plug in your glue gun.
4.Applying the actual glue:
Take your glue gun when the glue is melted. While you hold the phone put your best friend to slowly put a small drop of glue on the tip of the joystick (it shouldn't be more than 1-2 mm higher than the joystick itself).
5.Fine tuning the joystick:
Almost imediately after you applied the glue use your finger to make it round, gently (make sure that the finger is wet or else the glue will stick to it,i don't know, use water, sweat, spit, anything you can think of) oh and don't worry, your hand won't burst into flames. After this let it cool a bit,you can try blowing on it air,or use a compressor.
6:Fine tuning the joystick 2:
After it cooled down the new tip will have some imperfections on it (if it doesn't then you're either blind,in which case i have the perfect cure for your eye sight my blind friend,or you are a professional in making joystick tips). To remove the imperfections, take a small piece of sandpaper (very fine) and start removing the imperfections.
If you've done it right then your joystick should look fine.Back to the camera, hope these are better:
Hope this helps,good luck.
P.S. I think this deserves a sticky.
