Just got a T68i: Bluetooth vs. Irda vs. Usb vs. Serial? Please help! |

Hi everyone!
I just recently bought a T68i and am very impressed and excited.
I want to download stuff on to my phone right away but don't know how? What is WAP? If I have it, I can send stuff to my phone? Is it like mobile internet? I don't think I have it.
I am planning to get some sort of utility to connect my phone to my PC. What should I get? I was thinking if I get a cable, I would get a USB instead of serial just for the sake of ease to setup. However, the USB cable would only work my phone, right? If I was to get an Irda thingy, I would be able to use it with any device that supports infrared, right? (such as PDAs or other phones) I did think about a Bluetooth dongle (?) but again, that would only work with my phone (since I don't have any other Bluetooth devices). Also, what is the transfer speed difference between all the options? Is one better or easier to use compared to others? Also, if I was to get a device, is there a particular brand or device recommended? I was planning to get something just off Ebay since the only thing I can find at stores are cables and they are pretty pricey. After I have a device that allows me to connect my phone to my computer, do I need special software? Please help me! Thanks in advance.
BTW, I think this site is amazing and it is so resourceful! |

IMO, BT is much better than Irda and cable, as irda is kinda slow in transfer rate is only capable of transfering data to one device at a time, moreover you have to direct the irda to your device in order to communicate with it. Cables to me is definitely out. WHY? well i would just gibve u all my O and reasons down there
Cable
1) it cost the same with my USB key
2) only usable on my phone
3) WIRE!!!!
Irda
1) not that convenient
2) must point to device
3) slow transfer rate
pros
1) easier to set up
2) stable to use
3) usable on lots of device
BT
1) wireless!
2) 25m of connection for MSI's BT key
3) fast transfer rate
4) cheap (not really )
5) future investment
cons
1) hard to set up
2) currently not that stable
3) not many device uses bt nowadays
However, bluetooth will be the replacement for Irda, as we can see that the market is boosting the usage of BT and motherboards have built-in bt and only selling at US$70 CHEAP!! and if u have two bluetooth keys, you can easilly transfer files to the otehr comp, i believe that u can also use bt to play multiplayer game
which to buy is up to you but i am satisfied with my bt key though i spent alot of time setting it up and got very frustrated when i was setting it up. make your own choice

I use the MA-620 IR adapter with no problems whatsoever. Here are some other opinions:
