Plz make a "Sticky" on this thread if its possible..
YES, it is hardwarewise possible to have
the MMS software on the T68. NO NEW HARDWARE REQ.
YES Anyone that owns an T68 will get the MMSupgrade for free..
Just as you get a new softwareversion for free.
YES Ericsson is proud to have released the first MMS capable phone on the market.. so
all this talk about that this wont happen is bullsh*t talk.
If anyone tells you different then they
dont know what they are talking about.
The T68i phone is probably just the T68 with I-mode software in it.. (3 party product)

you dont have to hope i am right..
I AM RIGHT...
Stop these speculations now!!!
You bought a MMS phone, but they said they would release the MMS enabled software in march...
I work with MMS, and i have the MMS software on my phone, and they will be done in march and you will get it for free...
So stop these speculations now..
And the T68i is a IMODE version on the phone, there are articles and pressreleases about this.. and this is a 3rd party product for the T68..
T68x will be MMS capable during march by a SOFTWARE UPGRADE!

Well,..we did actually discuss this some time ago, and of course we'll get the mms-upgrade
Some people in here already have the mms-software.
Lists of new mms-software features have been posted several times in here,..and they all pretty much look the same.
I dont think anyone can say for 100 percent sure, if we'll get everything on these lists, or maybe even more
My guess is that these lists are made from the developers-software version R1A-108. Which should be the original mms-software.
Try the "search" function to find the lists.
E.g. search for "mms-software".

I wrote a long post about this, about when I could try a phone with the new software installed and what new features I could see while investigating it for a while.

i-mode is the Japanese equivalent of WAP but a hundred times better.
Instead of WML that Wap uses, it uses a modified version of HTML.
What makes i-mode so good is that there are hundreds of sites all in full colour and many feature small animations and sound. Very fast service and it works like GPRS so you're always 'connected'.
Big corporate companies almost always have websites but hardly any run a decent WAP site. In Japan most top companies have an i-mode site as well as a website. |

But does it makes it better? Is Nokia a better phone than Ericsson because it sells more?

Interesting point. However, the majority of major companies from various industries DO NOT have WAP sites. Think of top car, audio, movie, computer, and other industries. They don't produce WAP sites but in Japan they produce i-mode sites. All their services and products can be viewed on a mobile phone.
Plus, the market penetration and use of i-mode compatible phones is so huge in Japan that it would be crazy for these companies NOT to have an i-mode site.
Unfortunately here, I beleive quantity is more important |

Indeed: I wouldnt agree with you saying that Imode is that much better..
First, Japanīs PC penetration is close to zero! So they use I-Mode instead of Internet browsing..
Second, 95% of all trafic within the Imode is 2 things,
1, instant msgs, terminal to terminal
2, downloading of ringtones and icons.
What do that tell you?
Well, Japans phones didnt have a good way of sending messages across phones, so they use I-Mode instant messaging service just as we use SMS.
And They use I-Mode for downloading ringtones and icons, same thing as we do with sms
So basicly, if you look on the usage of I-mode, then it is as "good" as our GSM SMS service..

Hello Musicear, EVERY SW upgrade for a Ericsson phone has been for free! This will also be the case for the forthcoming MMS sw. People that say different are just speculating. |
