^ I've never tried it; but I'm interested to know if anyone has successfully updated their firmware with the SIM and MSD inside. And if anyone has killed their phones in so doing. tia

I've never taken the SIM or memory stick/card out when upgrading/flashing on my k750i, or before that on my v3. I suppose it's just a 'safety' thing so you can't complain that the SEUS service deleted your contacts/files (I dont think it touches these anyway).

Ive had the memory stick wiped clean before using the SEUS last year, So I remove it & the sim card when im using SEUS now.

I always switch the phone off before removing or inserting the memory stick too.
