Custom Image Zooming on K750i |

Hi,
I have uploaded a custom 1632x1224 image to my K750i (a map in jpeg format) and i want to zoom in it on my phone.
The phone, although understands its size by displaying the 1632 icon in the corner, does not let me zoom in it. It only allows me to edit the picture.
Any solutions to this?
Thanks in advance... |

view it horizontally first then you can zoom in |

Rename your map file to following "DSC12345.JPG" (any five digits will do) and copy it to the very same folder where the camera saves it's own photos,
either
Phone memory\\Pictures\\camera_semc\\100MSDCF\\
or
Memory Sick\\DCIM\\100MSDCF\\
Now you will have the same zooming feature available as used on own photos. |

@mark_q
thats the Camera Location folders... it sez on the manual... once you tried to save an image to that folder, it will not be recognized by the phone and thus it will show you an icon rather than the image itself.
have you tried that trick?
:EDIT:
forgive me for doubting you.. but your suggestion really works... great!!! thanx man!

Tried that...
When a pic is zoomable a magnifying glass appears on top left corner.
On my picture it does not appear, so zoom is not applicable when the picture is viewed horizontally...
Anyone else? |

rockygali,
I always try out my tricks before posting any suggestions. I did following: resized a 600x400 pixels GIF up to 1632x1224pixels and saved it as JPG. Knowing the usual file size I selected a JPG-Quality setting giving me a file size about 400KB, in this case 60% Quality gave 403KB.
My earlier experiments in mind I saved the very same picture with 100% Quality setting, resulting a 1144KB file. I sent this one too to my K750. The zooming couldn't handle this file, too large in KB size. I also noticed that it's not stricktly neccessary to copy to the 100MSDCF folder, as BT connection sends image files to
Memory Stick\MSSEMC\Media files\image\
EDIT: something wrong with this forum software; it doubles the ""!

Thanks everyone for helping...
The problem was solved.
1) I realized that my image was 1224x1632 so I rotated it to 1632x1224.
2) Then, I followed Mark_Q's advice and reduced the size to about 400KB.
3) Finally, I placed it to Memory Sick\\\\DCIM\\\\100MSDCF\\\\
I don't really know which of the 2 worked, but I don't care since it works...!!!
Thanks again... |

SugarVag,
Well, maybe you don't care but I do. Just re-tested and found out that trying to zoom in to 1.25x the 1144KB large image it took 3 minutes 35 seconds before the display went blank white and then black.
Only three seconds needed to zoom the 403KB version from 1x to 1.25x.
The zoom feature is available only for horizontal orintated image. Vertical (portrait) orientation of the image: no zooming. Now we know. |
