Does this method give full access to internet i.e ftp, pop3 etc or is it only wap gprs?
And you said Bsnl gives full internet gprs unlimited for 200 bucks right. That looks cheaper to me when compared to 375 of Airtel mobile office. . Can you verify this info dude. . |

wef from may 2006, bsnl has decreased tariff to 199 for unlimited plan!!
as per the ofiicial site http://www.bsnl.co.in
yah , that is full gprs and cheaper than airtel mo !!!!

@freworld4u i am from uttar pradesh. Btw i have tried wit all the Apns , even wit all the regions. But only the portal Apn works ie. Celloneportal

look
as i hav already told that their r many setting
but still their r old original and 1 new original
bcoz bsnl people r upgrading their systems ,etc
so ur setting having apn=celloneportal
is old setting!!
i know of it also,
it has ip of=192.168.51.163
and port=8080
is that so????????
what i infer is they havn't upgraded/changed the access settings 2 new one
so they will be doing that in future at ur place!!!!!
so till then u hav 2 wait!!!
btw why u don't u post whole of ur settings
all-portal, gprs,wap,mms, which u hav on ur cell??
also when ur portal is activated,gprs and mms and wap r also activated simultaneously
(at least on prepaid)
i don no of postpaid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No .. On postpaid only portal gets activated by sendin sms to 3733.. And so you can sure primarily wap.cellone.in and not all the sites. My settings of portal are Apn celloneportal (no .in) ip 192.168.51.163 and port as 8080

ok u do one thing
use these mms ettings and send a mms 2 any no(bsnl no with gprs activated)
and see whether u can send mms ,also see ur balnace b4 and after--
apn=mms.n.po (try this alos mms.n.pr)

No use... The phone shows an error of Apn.. It says communication error. Please check your settings or try again. I have the sim of bsnl on my se phone.

writing mistake!!!!!
use APN AS = mms.e.po ( try mms.e.pr also)
bcoz u r from east=that is why using "e" in apn!!!
i my last post i wrongly wrote mms.n.po!!!!
dat is not right for U!!!
now try send mms to any mms 2 any mms/gprs activated phone no!!!
see it works or not!!!!

@alands for settings u need to check your phone manufacturers site. U can't trust the chaps of bsnl cc for the settings, and to get gprs activated u need to write down an application, but for the portal service u have to send sms "portal" to 3733. well i had it activated very easily
i fail to understand why u guys are facing problem in gettin portal activated
@freworld4u U MAYBE RIGHT, old settings may be in use in my area
and here are my setings for portal
apn: celloneportal (without ".in")
ip: 192.168.51.163
tats it!!
so i guess i need to wait until and unless they implement the new settings here!
hey i even tried sending mms through portal apn
but it failed!!! |
