I've seen a couple of posts here in various 8800 threads mentioning this, but no solid info yet

It could be possible, but imo with a better back cam and a kind of 6280 features

yeah, obviously it wouldn't just be the existing model with 3g as that would not work

it would also need more memory and/or external memory capability

It's going to be a 6280 in a redesigned premium version

Indeed, at least a 900 mah batt is a must, however n80 has only a 820 mah batt, very low according high res screen and umts feature.

Yeah, like rebuilding it from the inside out I consider the 6280 Nokias gutterball 2006.. Bad build, halves don´t line up, feels worn out of the box, when vibrating it sounds/feels totally hollow, camera has terrible over-sharpening, and to top it off, i managed to kill two of them in a row simply by sending a mp3 via BT. They both went into a non-finished rebooting loop and had to be replaced by dealer.. ´nuff said

No they´re not
Look at the 8850/90 and their eternal display and microphone issues.. or the 8910/i and the mechanism either snapping open or open slanted to one side
My local repair shop even refers to the 8***-series as blooming boomerangs (once they start acting up they just keep coming back)
Still, can´t help but loving them, eh?

Common faults yes, cable snaps on 8910i after heavy use or dropping, how stupid would you be to drop a premium phone?
Nokia 8850 common fault too but easily fixed. If they were unfixable problems then it'd be a major issue.

Plus, you speak as if they are dominated by something else? They're not

Keeep to topic though ..

Well if the 8800 (i) had a 2mp camera, 3g, more memory, and wifi, it'd be sexay.

LOL, yes that is an imitation but there is a planned successor to the 8800,
