ive seen that if you spend £30 or more on an orange contract phone you get a 'free' broadband connnection. i have also noticed however that the phones being offered for free are muc lesser models that can normally be obtained free on a £30 a month contract. is there anyone who could explain why to me? maybe this is fatreg's thing?

simple answer money. they offer a lesser phone then top the deal up with free broadband. so in the end they make a similar profit margin to giving away a more expensive phone for taking out a 12 month contract.
its just another way of trying to get you to sign a contract some places give psp or ipods away.
most companys offer similar tariffs and free phones nowa days so companies are looking at other ways to attract new customers.

phone prices havent changed...

so you can scrap that idea...

and EDIT: you have to sign up to an 18 month contract, W810i was £29.99 prior to 01/06/2006 and it is still £29.99 as at 01/062006.....

its a DAMN good deal...

Na i wouldn't orange branding is one of the worst, just yucky, i wouldn't mind branding if they didn't put little orange squares on the housing but unfortunately they do.
