I have just been monitoring a sale on eBay where one poor seller was selling his S700i and had £82 going for it.

Then in the last minute two people jumped in and bid on it for outrageous prices like £217, ruining the poor guys sale. What b*stards?

Thats the second time this week I've seen it happen. Does it happen a lot now?

Evil buggers.

These aren't snipers, cause they have no intention to pay for the phone.

They are simply winning the phone at stupid prices forcing you to pay high final value fees and to waste your time.

It is happening all the time!

Yeah i know you can get much better prices on ebay but you take a risk when listing high value items like phones.

If you selling little things your less likely to get stung, i only use ebay for buying now.

I have never really had a problem. I only accept Paypal and the people who try to ruin these auctions/ bin dont register with paypal as its to much of a painto join. Ebay blocks all people who try to bid on my auctions who dont have a paypal account.

Seen this quite a few times, scammers trying to tempt people into thinking they've got an over the top price for their item, and that greed will make them lose their rationality!

Luckily (so far) it's not happened to me, but probably just a matter of time!

They should have an option whereby sellers can choose not to accept bids from members below a certain feedback score.

It would help loads....

It hasn't happened to me yet though I'd be livid if it did....

I think you can set bidder requirements when you list an item, and I think you can block all bids from say, everyone with a zero rating or below a certain amount. Never tried it myself though, and the problems I've had have actually often been from people with more than 5 feedback!

My previous w800i was bought by a nigerian priest, then by another nigerian buying it for his daughter.

Really pisses me off.. there should be more ways to stop these people getting accounts.. i think you should have to register your card details to become a buyer as well as a seller.

@JJ: just for clarity, what do you mean by "these people"?
