R380e IR help urgent |

dear friends
I have buy yesterday an hold-but new in is box- Ericsson R380
Having also the T68i I tryed to send by IR from T68i to R380 some phonebook names and always nothing is hapening . Like if the IR is not working althought I open it and the screen show that the IR is working.
Could it be the IR transmission rate ? Or others setting of the IR that I don't understand completely !

I have done it t68>380 and back with no problems. did not change any settings.

could the IR in my phone NOT working at all ,althought is seems that it is working ?
how could somebody check if the IR is really working ?

try with another phone with IR.... it's the easiest way to test if the
IR is not working on your two phones...

I have tried to see if in my PC with an MCA-620 infrared that I have the 380 is working and it is working-it is making noise.
today with my old R520 that I tried again it dosn't work again ???
I am going crasy !!! |

I have upgrade Friday my new R380s to R380e and the software are phone R2A02 and organizer R5C01 . I believe they are the last ones |

strange.... really strange... you can get R380 -> MCA-620 to work... but not R380 -> R520 ?
well... then it shouldn't be anythin wrong with the IR communication in your R380... unless it's a bit loose on the inside...

on the setting of the IR the settings are :
baud 115200, none , bit 1 , length 8 , control CTS/RTS
I don't know many of those settings but could this help you understand ! |

you can try to set it at a lower speed... like 9600 baud.... |

Cytech you give up ??
I call later on SE service in Athens and they finnaly told me that because R380 is PDA it cannot receive from T68i R520 etc phone book data because also it has more lines and details for each account number !! Are they saying the truth or not ? Jnorberg sees that he has done it ? Who is telling the truth ?? |

just tested with my T68i and R380... sending from R380 to T68i works, but not the other way... should work though.... has nothing to do with that R380 can be seen as a PDA... I have sent contacts to/from a Palm Pilot without any problems... so... I haven't got a clue what's wrong... |

Hello again!
I did both t68mi>R380 and R38>t68mi. I did send contacts and worked fine. It was a R380 not a R380e if it helps.
