Hi Guys,
Google search should be blocked. I mean, The member Area should be restricted. Only registered members should be allowed access to the forum. I feel Esato is unsecure Forum, Every other person can read, access the member area.
I kindly request Moderators, developers, members to support me. Lets make Esato a Secure Forum. Where only registered members can have access to members area and threads.
Esato is currently a open forum, which can be access from google search. Many of us share personal views, problems, suggestions, advises, tricks, tips, which I think is not safe to be access to by general public through Google search engine. I personally feel, There must be some restriction or doors which can give entry only to registered members.
I Hope Esato forum will be Secured forum soon!
Thanks for Reading, Please support me by Replying....

i like the fact that people can look at it without signing up.
maybe people need help with their phones, they can look, and find the awnser and be on their way, maybe they dont want to stay an esato member. they just might have needed help for a second.
if we had it to where you had to be a member even to view it, we would have over 50,000 more members, probobly all with 0 posts and will never visit again, just becuase they wanted to read a thread.
ya know? |

Sounds like a good idea but a flaw in your "plan" is that hardly anybody would join the forum if this were to happen as nobody could see what there is to offer, the advice given.
A "secure forum" would make esato close its doors to the oublic when what it needs to be doing is the opposite, by doing this the growth of the forum would be restricted but the idea is good in theory.
Maybe a private sub-forum for members only?

I too like the fact that Esato is open. If it wasnt an open forum then I would never have found Esato in the first place. I think the fact that it is open means that people can often find the answer to their problem without having to register. How many people have found what they are after but havent joined?

I find it interesting that such a suggestion comes from a newish member, not that there is anything wrong in that but normally I would expect to see longer term members posting such a comment
I get where you are coming from though but I think most of us are fairly unidentifiable from our user names and I'm sure most psychologists would confirm there is a "online persona" that we all have which isn't neccessarily who we would be in person, and as such we write things that we would not neccessarily say
Personally though, I still prefer the idea of Esato being open and I'm sure we get many more members because of it.

I really appreciate your quick responce guys,
My idea will invite & encourage more membership. What am suggesting is, when people search in google, they will get Esato links in search result. They will click the link to know more. Then the link should automatically redirect to Register page. So more people will join Esato...
If a non-member can access the member area then why people will join Esato???
I like this forum very much...

but will the google search bot see the content so that it can be shown in search results?
I've no experience in this area but I think not if membership is required in order to view the threads

As masseur suggested if ESATO required a login to access content Google would not pick up the content in the first place and then there would be less people visiting = ESATO becoming less useful for all.
Anything you ever write on the web is archived somewhere and the fact that ESATO is open follows my own personal belief that such forums should share information freely but in order to contribute and police SPAM etc registration should be required.

Esato should and I suppose will stay open for public search. That is way better then closing it so only registerd ppl could read it. I myself in the first place wouldnt have found esato if it was closed for non-registered ppl. Although there can be a member section only.

thats the best part, you can read whatever you want in esat, and it is a very highle moderated forum, and ppl discuss, deabate, share personal opinion etc....
NO malware , CrackZ or other stuff, just plain tips tricks nad suggestions
but you do need to sign up to see the images in the forum ... you cant see the pictures posted without logging in...
naturally when ppl see that lots of ppl have got most of their queries answered here, non memebers will join to have thier queries solved.
PS: as a side note, you would see www.expert-exchange.com come up in google searches, but i really hate that site, you can never know whats in there....

If I hadn't seen ESATO when I searched and bought a ringtone for my T300 I never would've joined the place so it is also a good source of income, it being open.

What a strange idea! A lot of people if they did get here via a google search and couldn't read any threads unless they joined would probably just close the window down and keep searching without a second thought. I bet new membership would drop right off!
Many people came here initially via a search engine (I did!) and don't think making this some kind of 'ringed community' would help.
