Not sure about which products you are interested in? Are you looking at Stocks & CFDs, Forex, Options, Futures, Managed Funds or just plain day-trading? Saxotrader (Saxo Bank) offers a good all-rounder ( http://www.saxobank.com/campaign/?id=1634&stlnocount=true ), and I have been hearing some good feedback on them. If you let me know some specifics, I might be able to direct you to some other possibilities. Also, what size are you looking at re portfolio? (some services are better than others depending on your projected scale of involvement).

I am not an expert when it comes to the stock market, but from basic simple understanding, what I want to do is be able to buy stocks (as an investment) in a company and be able to sell them when I wish (to make a profit) <--(Hopefully)

I want to invest in Softbank at the moment and Motorola Middle East.

Based on what you say, I don't think the right option for you would be to trade on a live application. They are really more aimed at people who want to do a lot of trades, and who follow the markets daily. If you only want to buy a couple of shares (Softbank & Motorola Middle East), then I'd reccomend that you simply contact a broker. The broker will take a premium, however you will have his expertise, and he should be able to execute your orders on an hourly/daily basis.

You say: "what I want to do is be able to buy stocks (as an investment) in a company and be able to sell them when I wish". Pure and simple, you just need a good broker.

Do you want to trade with a Qatar broker? In which case, I probably can't help you. If you want a good contact in the City (London), then I know a couple of people. Thirdly, (I don't know your status in the UK) if you are non-domiciled in the UK (or reside outside the EU), I have a great contact in a bank in Luxembourg, which could provide some tax-advantages (they do however have a minimum asset limit). Let me know. [addsig]

Thing is, I'm not a rich person, and broker's will take money. I just wanted to invest a tiny bit.

It doesn't matter what stock market I use (although I'll use the Qatar stock market for Motorola ME)

edit:
I'm currently in the UK as a student (although I am have British), just thought I'd mention that.

Of course the more advantages the better.
I've never done this before and just wanted to invest perhaps 100-200 pounds in some stocks. Not much, but something.

Try looking into the penny share guide. As it says, it is small priced stocks, some as low as 1p, hence the name. I'm sure you could invest here and have some fun also.

if you use barclays bank you can get them to trade shares for you as a customer they take a small percentage but, its not a lota couple of percent. ive sold shares through they are based out of glasgow and its done over the telephone to start with then you can set up and online account with them and do it from your pc.
not sure if its just the ft ie london stocks they deal with though as ive only sold uk stock before
