I believe there's a programme called SEtool which allows you to modify pretty much anything in the phone, stuff such as shutter sound, service providers name removal from stand by. Search for it on google, but it costs 250$

No, as above. You can change defaults etc but what else can you expect to change?

surely if you knew enough about programming/phone hardware to be considering doing this yourself, you'd know what was/wasn't possible?

it is possible, that's why im working on a way to get symbian on SE, if it means having to wipe of the firmware and flashing a custom symbian OS, then so be it,

you must remember that symbian is much slower and that it uses some special buttons that are required to be on the phone's keypad (unless you're a programmer and know how to heavily modify it),like the menu button and the edit (i think) button.Anyway i wish you luck if you want to try it

Heh - sorry for being negative but why? SE did a pretty decent job on the software in the first place, and since it's just a phone, why bother? Seems like loads of hours wasted on a 2500 SEK thing, not worth the effort really.

@abbasakhtar - Are you really gonna do it??

@bugsiiy - You are talking about series 60, but why choose that?? if you could put in symbian you could as well put in UIQ (since it doesn't use any "extra buttons".

@sapporobaby - Prove it!!

@all - This is crasy, any good OS would be around 15-20 mb big, and i doupt that the rom in a w800 is that big....
