Hello guys, first i want to say that esato forums are GREAT!
So i decided to buy a K750i because starting 1june2006, Orange offers the K750i for only 149$ ! That is less than half the price that u can buy it from here in Romania!
The problem is( after i searched a bit throu the forums, as i didn't wanted to start a new topic unless i really needed it) that the Orange braded ones are lame.
1) Isn't it possible to remove the visual "orange" items with a theme/patch or something?
2) I've heard that the firmware updates are really nice, improving video/photo quality, menu speed and lots more, do i have access to these updates if i have an orange branded model ?

THX!

I got my K750 from Orange Romania about a week ago and it is ok, the menu is unfortunatly branded with the orange icons but everything else is ok. I didn`t try to debrand it beacuse of the warranty, maybe after the warranty expires i wil try it, but it doesn`t bother me that i have a orange startup screen (how often do you see it anyway?:). The Firmware update is working on the branded phone, i tried it last Friday but the phone already had the newest version so i will have to wait till the next release to se it in action.
If you change the theme of the phone the icons remain the same, its not great but at least the skin of the menus changes

You can easily debrand it and then if you need to get it repaired just use SEUS to update it back to Orange firmware?

I'm kind of confused atm. I got a (free) phone upgrade from SE and then, unfortunately, sent me a locked phone! So, I'll be calling them again today to see whether they have got the unlock code yet.

Anyways, the phone physically doesn't seem to be branded, i.e. No logo underneath keypad. The phone turns on fine, no logos there. Yet, when the phone turns off, the Orange Logo comes up and when accessing the Service Menu, and under Software the customization is ORANGE_GEN. That lead me to believe that it is branded by Orange. Am I correct? If not, I'll have to contact SE to tell them to contact some other provider, whomever that might be.

When my phone gets unlocked, the first thing I am going to do is update the firmware. Even though I just got the phone last week, it is running R1AA008. (EROM: R2B001) Is that a bad thing, to update the phone right after I get it? It is fully charged, and I'll be using the cable that it came with. I know this may sound stupid (" Why the bloody **** couldn't you update the firmware after you got it?"), but I just want to be sure. I don't want to screw up another phone.

Sorry for 'jacking your thread. Well, I can tell you SEUS is Sony Ericsson Update Service. I know that if you want to debrand a phone, it isn't free. There are a lot of companies or people who will charge a fee to debrand it... These might help:

Depends on what you got. It won't update the latest! It just won't.

Stops at R1AA008. I tried to update mine two times, nothing. It says it's "finished, please disconnect USB cable", but still old firmware!
