I reciently bought a battery for my w550 on ebay. The battery made by Maxxcell claims to be 1700 mAh (i.e. nearly twice the capacity the offical SE battery). Just now I did a test, left it recording a video on paused state (which keeps the screen switched on). The offical SE batteries lasted longer than 5 hours, while the ebay batteries only lasted 3 hours.
Still considering that they only cost 10€ they are not bad value if you need a spare set, but just be aware of the exagerated claims.

I always take claims like that by non-genuine battery sellers with a lot of caution. As long as they work reasonably well I don't mind too much, and that they don't blow up or anything!

Also, I suspect the 'genuine' batteries that ship from Hong Kong or China are in fact good quality fakes (though this hasn't stopped me buying them in the past!)
