How do i connect w800i to laptop using bluetooth? |

Im totally clueless on this. My laptop has bluetooth and I want to connect my w800i to it so i can browse the phone in windows explorer.
I have no idea where to begin. Would appreciate some help.
Edit: I've managed to connect the phone so that I can use it as an Internet-connection via bluetooth, although that is not my goal. But at least with that I know both ends of the bluetooth connection is working.
Ive tried setting it up as a serial-port connection (have no idea what that does), but no luck in browsing of transfering files to the phone.
When i do that I seem to have a constant bluetooth connection between my laptop and the phone, but nothing more happens. (Again, I have no idea what SPP is supposed to do).
Sony Ericsson file manager keeps saying that no phone is connected. Help please!

First - what operating system do u run? Second - what bluetooth software do you use?

First, take note of the COM Port your BT connection is using.
Second, download the mighty MyPhoneExplorer.
Third, open MPE, FILE > OPTIONS > select your COM Port > OK
Finally, select connect and enjoy!

See? Thats what im talking about. I assumed that Windows XP could understand blutooth devices just as easily as it does when i plug in any USB device. Apparently winXP is not as smart as I thought.
At the very least i assumed that the Sony Ericcsson software were able to handle this directly.
So you're saying I need a third-party software? That I cannot use windows explorer? That I cannot map the bluetooth as a drive in win XP? |

Thank you! Seems like a good program. Although i still would have preferd to use ie to transfer files, at least now i have the option to do it at all.

Just to clarify a few points.
XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) has it's own Bluetooth (BT) drivers and should recognise your BT adapter as soon as it is connected.
Using XP SP2 will only allow basic functions such as transfering one file at a time.
Using  PC Suite works fine but looks boring (in my opinion) and lacks features compared to MPE.
You can transfer files by BT without MPE but why would you want to?
